Dodgers win behind strong performance from Cuccinello

Tony Cuccinello went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored as the Dodgers beat the Cubs today at Ebbets Field, 8-4.  One of those hits was a home run - Tony's 13th of the season.  Watty Clark gets the win for Brooklyn.  He pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs.  Pat Malone, the Cubs starter, was hit hard.  He was lit up for 8 earned runs in 6.2 innings.

The big inning for Brooklyn was the 5th - where they scored 4 runs on 4 hits.  Al Lopez began the inning with a strikeout, then Watty Clark doubled.  Then Buzz Boyle singled, then Lonny Frey walked to load the bases.  Len Koenecke then walked.  Sam Leslie hit into a force out which scored a run, then Johnny Frederick and Tony Cuccinello hit RBI singles.

With the win Brooklyn now has a record of 73-70.  With the loss, Chicago now has a record of 74-68.
