Dodgers win 4th straight

The Dodgers continue to roll, winning their 4th in a row today in a 4-2 decision over Cincinnati.  Ray Benge pitched masterfully; he allowed just 1 earned run in a complete game performance.  Danny Taylor was 4-for-4.  The Dodgers are now 8-2 in their last 10 games and look to finish this season strong.

The big inning in this one was the 3rd for Brooklyn.  In that frame, they scored 3 runs.  Buzz Boyle grounded out to start the inning, then Lonny Frey singled, followed by a Danny Taylor single.  With runners on 1st and 3rd, Len Koenecke knocked a single back through the box to score 1 run.  Sam Leslie then singled to score another.  Tony Cuccinello hit a big sac fly to produce the 3rd run.  The Dodgers out-hit the Reds, 11-4.  Every starting position play except Cuccinello had a hit in this 1.

"I love how we're finishing out this season," Manager Williams said.  "I want us to finish up better than .500 - that is the goal at this point.  I'm damn proud of this club."
