Boyle goes 3-for-4 in win against Cardinals

The Dodgers defeated the Cardinals today, 9-6, at Sportsman's Park.  Buzz Boyle was one of many Dodgers hitters to perform well; he finished 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Les Munns pitched a complete game for Brooklyn for the win.  He wasn't great, allowing 6 earned runs, but he held the fort as the Dodgers punished the Cardinals early in the game.

Johnny Frederick and Tony Cuccinello also had 3-hit games for the Dodgers.  The Dodgers pounded out 17 hits in this contest.  One of Boyle's hits was a triple.

The Cardinals did not hit particularly well in this one.  They managed 8 hits but only had runners in scoring position for 6 at bats.  The Dodgers left 11 men on base, while the Cardinals left 3.
