Pathetic Philadelphia shut out Dodgers

The Dodgers were shut out for the 6th time this season today at Ebbets Field against the Phillies.  Euel Moore pitched the shutout for Philadelphia.  He allowed 10 hits but did not walk a batter.  Van Mungo started for Brooklyn, and his performance ended up being pretty pedestrian.  He allowed 5 runs but 2 earned over 6.1 innings of play.

The decisive inning for this game occurred in the 5th when the Phillies scored 3 runs.  Harvey Hendric led off the inning but struck out.  Euel Moore then popped out.  But the Phillies would mount a threat.  Dick Bartell reached on an error by 2nd baseman Jim Bucher.  Mickey Haslin then singled, putting runners at the corners.  Next up was Ethan Allen who hit a 2-run triple.  Johnny Moore then singled Allen home.

Ethan Allen was 4-for-4 with 3 RBI's in the game.
