Let's take a look at the decisive 7th and 8th innings. In the top of the 7th New York scored 4. Hugh Critz led off with a single and reached 2nd on a wild pitch. Johnny Frederick then hit into an unfortunate 4-2-3 double play, but Al Lopez hit a big 2-run single to put the Dodgers ahead. The Giants had their first 2 batters reach in the 9th but only ended up with 1 run as the game ended on a double play.
