Dodgers rack up another impressive victory, now over .500

The Dodgers have won a season-best 5th in a row, as they defeated the Braves again, 7-4, at Ebbets Field.  Dutch Leonard went the distance, and although he didn't pitch fabulously (allowing 2 home runs), he was a steady hand that led the Dodgers to victory.  Tony Cuccinello hit a big home run late to go with a bases clearing double in the 3rd inning.  The 8th inning was the pivotal inning in the game.  The Braves tied the game at 4 with 2 runs off a Randy Moore home run.  But Brooklyn responded.  With 2 outs in the inning, Cuccinello hit a home run; then Jimmy Jordan doubled, Al Lopez singled, then Leonard and Boyle hit RBI singles.

The Braves initiated the scoring in the 1st.  With 1 out, Marty McManus reached on a Cuccinello error.  The next batter, Wally Berger, hit a home run.  But the Dodgers would score 3 in the 3rd to take a 3-2 lead.  After an out was recorded, Johnny Frederick doubled.  Then, Danny Taylor walked.  After a flyout from Sam Leslie, Joe Stripp singled to load the bases.  Tony Cuccinello then hit the big bases-clearing double.  The Dodgers added a run in the 5th.  Johnny Frederick doubled.  Then, after 2 were out, Joe Stripp hit an RBI single.

This 5 game winning streak is the longest streak for Brooklyn this year.
