Phillies stage dramatic comeback, beat Dodgers

The league doormat, the Philadelphia Phillies, won in dramatic fashion today at the Baker Bowl, outlasting the Dodgers, 6-5.  Ethan Allen had 4 hits for the Phillies including a home run.  This game was a thrill ride as the lead changed hands 5 times.

The Phillies scored the winning runs in the 9th; here's how it went down.  Dick Bartell led off the inning with a double.  Lou Chiozza then slapped a one-base hit, plating Bartell.  Ethan Allen laced a base-hit.  After an out was recorded, Don Hurst drew a walk to load the bases.   Pinch hitter Jimmy Wilson then stroked a one-base hit to win the game.

Van Mungo got the loss for Brooklyn.  He went 8 innings and allowed 5 earned runs.
