Mungo pitches complete game shutout

Van Mungo put up another masterful performance today at Ebbets Field, pitching a complete game shutout in a 2-0 win.  Mungo was dominant, racking up 8 strikeouts and allowing just 4 hits.  He never allowed Boston to stage a rally in the game.  He has pitched well in a number of games recently and with today's win evens his record at 6-6.

Today's game featured just 12 hits total.  Buzz Boyle and Sam Leslie had multiple hit games for the Dodgers.  Let's get to the scoring.

The Dodgers got on the board in the 2nd inning.  After an out was recorded, Al Lopez singled.  Jimmy Jordan flied out.  Jim Bucher hit an RBI triple.  He was stranded at 3rd.  The Dodgers would score again in the 5th.  After two were out, Buzz Boyle singled.  Le Koenecke then doubled him home.

"We look like we've completely shaken the losing funk we were in," said Mathew Williams.  "Things look good."
