Hack Wilson's 2 home runs powers Dodgers to victory

Major League legend Hack Wilson clubbed 2 home runs today to guide the Dodgers to a needed 7-3 victory.  Wilson hit the home runs in the 6th and 7th innings.  The 6th inning was the crucial one for the Dodgers; they came into that inning trailing 3-0, but Wilson's home run along with 4 doubles plated them 5 runs.  They never looked back.  The Cardinals were unable to make much of an impact in the remaining innings.

Ray Benge went the distance for Brooklyn, going 9 innings, allow 6 hits, 3 runs (3 earned), 3 walks and 2 strikeouts.  He was quite strong throughout the game.  Manager Williams was thankful for that because the bullpen has been shelled so bad recently.

When questioned, Hack Wilson remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
