Dodgers top Reds, 11-6

The Dodgers have been playing well recently and today won game 2 of their series in Cincinnati, 11-6.  Ray Benge picks up the win for Brooklyn; he pitched okay, going 7.1 innings, allowing 5 earned runs.  He actually pitched quite well all game and got into some trouble at the end.  Newly acquired Harry Smythe finished the game for the Dodgers.  Don Brennan takes the loss for the Reds.

The Dodgers pounded out 16 hits in the game.  At the top of the order, Boyle, Frey, Koenecke, and Leslie all had 2 hit games.  Jimmy Jordan had a 3-hit game at the bottom of the order.  Len Koenecke smashed his 3rd home run of the season.  The Dodgers looked like a fine team and have now won 3 in a row.  Brooklyn for the month of June is 10-5.  Brooklyn also has a positive run differential for the first time in some time.

"We look good," said Manager Williams.  "If only we could catch those boys from Pittsburgh!  Boy, they're hot!"
