Dodgers slam Braves, 10-0

The Dodgers put their 'hittin' shoes' on and overwhelmed the Boston Braves at Braves Field today, 10-0.  Sam Leslie went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI's.  Lonny Frey went 2-for-5 with 4 RBI's (he hit a grand slam).  The Dodgers pounded out 14 hits in total.  Dutch Leonard started for Brooklyn and he went the distance, allowing just 5 hits, 1 walk, 1 strikeout.  It was the kind of game where everything seemed to be going right for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers plated 7 runs in the 7th inning.  Let's go through it.  Jimmy Jordan started the inning by popping out.  Dutch Leonard then reached on an error by pitcher Leo Mangum.  Buzz Boyle singled to put runners at first and third.  Len Koenecke popped out.  Danny Taylor walked.  Sam Leslie then singled in 2 runners.  Tony Cuccinello singled to load the bases, then Lonny Frey hit a grand slam.  Al Lopez then singled and got to 2nd on a stolen base.  Jimmy Jordan, batting for the second time in the inning, hit an RBI single.

"I tell ya', everything felt fine today.  We smoked 'em.  That's what its all about," Manager Williams said.
