Dodgers bullpen chokes in stunning loss

The Dodgers have one of the weakest bullpens in the league and it was never more apparent than today as the Giants came back from way back to win it.  The Dodgers were leading 8-3 going into the bottom of the 7th and then all hell broke loose.  Dodgers starter Tom Zachary was pulled after the 6th inning, and Ownie Carroll was brought on for relief.  Carroll ended up with an odious pitching line: 1.2 innings pitched, 7 hits, 7 earned runs, 2 walks 0 strikeouts.  He ended up with the loss, and the Dodgers as a team were left scratching their heads wondering just how did the left this one get away?

The crucial inning for the Giants was the 8th when they scored 5 runs on 6 hits.  The big hit came from Lefty O'Doul who cleared the fences with a 2-run home run.  

The poor pitching overshadowed a great performance from Brooklyn second baseman Tony Cuccinello.  He had a 4-hit game (including a home run) and 6 RBI's.
