Dodgers lose finale to Cardinals, but win series

The Dodgers took 2 of 3 in their series against the Cardinals this week, dropping the finale in ugly fashion, 8-0.  Brooklyn had won 3 in a row before the loss and now stand at 9-10.  Jesse Haines pitched a strong game for the Cardinals, going 8 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 0 earned runs.  Haines ranks 1st in the league in ERA with a 0.75 mark.  The Dodgers only had runners in scoring position in 4 at-bats and failed to come through in each.  Frankie Frisch, Joe Medwick, and Terry Moore hit home runs for St. Louis.
