Dodgers solve Warneke for another win

Cubs' starter Lon Warneke has been one of the best pitchers in the league this year, but the Dodgers knocked him around for 14 hits and 8 runs (6 earned) over 7 innings.  Dodgers starter Boom-Boom Beck, on the other hand, was lights out, pitching a complete game shutout and only allowing 3 hits.  This win puts the Dodgers 4 games above .500 as they continue to finish the season strong.

Buzz Boyle had 3 hits in the game for Brooklyn, including a double and a triple.  Joe Stripp also had a 3 hit game along with 2 RBI's.  Lopez, Beck, and Frey had 2-hit games.  The Dodgers had a big inning in the 3rd, scoring 4 runs on 3 hits.  The big hit that inning was the 2-run double from Al Lopez.  The Dodgers plated 5 of their runs with 2 outs in the inning.

The Dodgers will host the Cubs again tomorrow, so stay tuned!  Kids, come on down to Ebbets Field and have a little fun.  Hot dogs are half price for this series!
