Tom Zachary leads Brooklyn to win

Tom Zachary went 8 innings and threw 147 pitches and powered the Dodgers to a 6-2 win.  He allowed just 2 earned runs, though he did allow 11 hits.  But he outpitched Chicago starter Roy Joiner who gave up 6 earned runs in 7.2 innings.  With the win, the Dodgers improve to 30-37, while the Cubs loss puts them back at .500 with a 33-33 record.

The key inning for the Dodgers was the 4th inning when they scored 4 runs.  Sam Leslie began the inning with a walk.  Jim Bucher singled, putting runners at the corners.  Al Lopez singled, scoring a run, then Jimmy Jordan singled and reached second on an error, scoring a run.  With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Tom Zachary helped out his own cause with a 2-run single.

The Cubs were 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
