Benge pitches shutout; Dodgers take 3 of 4

Ray Benge continues to pitch well for the Dodgers, and it was no more evident than today as he spun a complete game shut out against the first place Pirates.  Benge was mostly unstoppable; he allowed 5 hits and did walk 5, but the Pirates had trouble capitalizing on any of his mistakes and only had 2 at bats with runners in scoring position.

Danny Taylor, Len Koenecke, and Sam Leslie all had 2 hit games in the heart of the Dodgers order.  Both of Len Koenecke's hits were doubles.

"It was great to see us perform so well against the first place team," Manager Williams said,  "The Pirates are a tough team on both sides of the ball.  To take 3 of 4 from them is pretty impressive, and we've played well recently.  Ray Benge and Van Mungo have pitched so well for us.  Our next objective is to get back to .500."
