Dodgers top Braves in opener

Van Mungo pitched a complete game shutout, and Danny Taylor hit a big home run as the Dodgers bested the Boston Braves in the season opener, 2-0.  

There was no scoring until the 7th inning as the Dodgers scored 1 run on 1 hit (the Taylor home run).  The Braves couldn't answer, and the Dodgers scored again in the 8th as Van Mungo singled in Tony Cuccinello.  There was fine pitching throughout the game as Fred Frankhouse pitched 7.2 innings, allowing 5 hits on 2 earned runs.  Van Mungo went the distance, allowing 0 earned runs on 5 hits, 5 strikeouts.
